ANANTNAG, Jan 14:  Continuing its drive against illegal constructions, Pahalgam Development Authority today razed more structures in various places of the tourist resort.
Chief Executive Officer Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA), Muhammad Yousuf Bhat said that all these structures had come up in brazen violation of High Court orders. “We after seeking help from police and administration demolished 4 structures, two plinths and two sheds at Mamal Pahalgam in the Wild Life Protection area,” he said, adding that the area is maintained and protected by the Wild Life Department.
He said that these illegal structures had come up as addition and extensions to the existing structures. “The people responsible for such illegal constructions had dumped construction material adjacent to the construction sites and we seized all such material,” Bhat said and made a fervent appeal to the Irrigation and Flood Control, Forest Department and local Revenue officials to join hands in the demolition drive so that ill designs of violators and offenders could be foiled.
Pertinently, PDA last week demolished the illegal structures at Khelan, Movera, Lidroo, Branward, Rangward, Pahalgam market and Sadhupadaw areas of the tourist resort.
