JAMMU, June 24: Alleging that Jammu was ignored in the talks convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with political leaders of J&K, activists of IkkJutt Jammu today held a protest demonstration.
Shouting slogans, they termed June 24 as black day and alleged that the BJP Government at the Centre was surrendering to separatists by initiating talks with Kashmiri leaders. “To appease the separatists of Kashmir Valley, the BJP Government has ignored Jammu voice and did not invite true representatives of this region,” they said.
The protest was organized under the banner of Jammu District Committee of IkkJutt Jammu near the Press Club, here today.
Carrying banners and tricolours, the IkkJutt Jammu activists were also demanding separate statehood for Jammu. Asking the Central Government not to take Jammu people for granted, they warned massive agitation if political aspirations of Dogras are ignored.
The protest demonstration was addressed by some senior activists of IkkJutt Jammu, who appealed people to come together under the leadership of Ankur Sharma for a struggle to get Jammu State. They also vowed to take the struggle for Jammu statehood to a logical conclusion.
