Sir,
We are at the door-steps of general elections which chooses our parliament. The parliament decides on the future of Indian Republic. So essentially elections choose the Republic that we want to live in. But do we really vote keeping this thing in mind or are elections a mere formality for us ? The issue needs a debate. People are real source of power which they should use on individual merit rather than mandated person of a political party. Electorate must be very careful before casting their votes and should not be befooled by the freebies political parties are offering before elections. Today voter is mature enough to understand the political gimmicks and does not get easily trapped. Road to good governance is difficult, If the voters of our country do not wake up to the understanding that outlines the importance of elections. Right to franchise should not go waste and people should exercise this right more as a duty towards nation than anything else. Elections need to be treated as a National Festival and participation in this process as a National duty.
Yours etc…
