IGP takes stock of ongoing search operation at encounter site

KISHTWAR, June 1: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone MK Sinha visited Marwah area of this district to review the security situation and to take stock of the search operations being conducted in the area.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday a brief encounter took place between police and militants in Appan near Nowapachi in which two police personnel got injured.
On the occasion, threadbare discussion on the means to improve the operational effectiveness was held between IGP and police and army officers.
IGP also visited Inshan in Warwan, where the present security situation, especially in the light of opening up of Margan Top route, was discussed and analyzed. Further, instructions were given to increase long range patrols and cordon and search operations in the areas.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) DKR Range BS Tuti and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shakti K Pathak accompanied the IGP Jammu Zone during the visit.
Later, a general security and Law and order review meeting was conducted in the District Police Headquarters which was attended by senior police officers including DIG DKR Range BS Tuti, SSP Kishtwar Shakti K. Pathak, Additional SP Kishtwar Nasir Ahmed, DySP Headquarters Sunny Gupta and DySP DAR DPL Iftikhar Ahmed.
