JAMMU, Oct 11: The Contractors of Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Department, Jammu today held a protest and demanded release of payments for the works done by them.
The protest was held under the aegis of I&FC Contractors’ Association, Jammu in front of Irrigation Complex, Canal Road, Jammu. A large number of contractors registered with the department participated in the protest and raised slogans against the authorities. The protest was led by president of the Association, Subhash Chander Sharma.

They demanded the authorities to release their payments for work done by them in last seven years under AIBP, SDRF, desilting and languishing projects of all canals in Jammu. The contractors decided that no work will be taken in hands till all their claims are settled. Not even single contractor participated in e-tendering process of the I&FC Department.
