LEH, July 23: ICICI Bank under the aegis of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized an outreach program “You and Your Banking Facility” at the Auditorium Hall of Sindhu Sanskriti Kendra today.
The event showcased stalls educating customers about the various financial products and services available to them. Around 100 customers of various banks participated in the program.
As a part of the event, ICICI Bank made a presentation on Safe Banking, followed by a panel discussion, which laid focus on issues relating to customer service and regulatory measures for improving customer service in the banking sector. The panelists included Suma Varma, CGM, CSD, RBI, Rajeshwar Rao, CGM, Banking Ombudsman (Delhi, J&K, NCR and Districts of UP and Haryana), DG Kale, GM, Customer Service Department, RBI, Supriyo Kumar Chaudhuri, CGM, SBI, and Saurabh Singh, SGM, Customer Service, ICICI Bank.
Speaking on this occasion, Saurabh Singh, Senior General Manger, ICICI Bank said, that outreach programs are an excellent way to help customers understand their rights.
Rajeshwar Rao, CGM, Banking Ombudsman (Delhi/NCR/J&K/certain districts of UP & Haryana) said that customers should be made aware of their rights and responsibilities. He further added that the services of the Banking Ombudsman are free of cost and easy to initiate.
Suma Varma, CGM, Customer Service Department, RBI mentioned that the objective of organising such events is to sensitize public about banks, to assess the extent to which the measures taken by RBI/Banks have reached the common man and to get first hand feedback for policy making.
Tsering Angchuk, District Commissioner, Leh, District Ladakh also addressed the gathering.
