Patwar Association holds protest demonstration

SAMBA, July 23: District unit of All J&K Patwar Association today held protest demonstration in support of the demands at its district headquarter here today.
The Patwaries and Girdwars, which have been on pen down strike since July 16 assembled today and staged dharna at their district headquarters raising slogans in favour of their demands.
They alleged that the State Government has failed to fulfill the written agreement made by it on March 5, 2012.
They were demanding removal of pay anomalies, stoppage of direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildars, relaxation in PSGA, enhancement of PSC Examination chances from four to eight, establishment of Departmental Enquiry Cell, inclusion of staff working in computer centre into ETS quota, Patwar training to all settlement assistants and prison men besides enhancement of their basic pay and transparency in transfer policy.
While addressing the protestants, tehsil president, Rajinder Singh said that the Association has unanimously decided to continue the struggle further if the Government did not redress their demands.
Those who addressed on the occasion included Rajinder Singh, Amzad Khan, Rattan Chand, Saleem Mohd, Ravinder Sharma and many others.
