JAMMU, May 31: Chenani Police have arrested husband of a young house wife who had committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance on May 16.
During the inquest proceedings, initiated into death of newly married Sunita Devi wife of Kartar Chand of Mathola in Chenani, Chenani Police came to know that the frequent torture by the husband forced the wife to commit suicide. The postmortem report also established that Sunita Devi had consumed some poisonous substance which led to her death.
Based on these facts, the Chenani Police, led by SHO Kewal Gupta, converted the inquest proceedings into registration of FIR under Section 306 RPC and arrested the accused husband.
