UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: A young house wife committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the house of her in-laws near Birma Bridge, here today.
A Police spokesman said that Babli Devi (25), wife of Om Kar Singh, resident of near Birma Bridge Udhampur, consumed some poisonous substance at her house. The family members noticed her in serious condition and shifted her to District Hospital Udhampur where she died during the treatment.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
The Udhampur Police after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for last rites.
