Speaking on the occasion Prof Ishar said that the hostel life is considered as an informal education. He said that the out-of-class experience provides an environment favourable for self-learning and maximizes opportunities for social, cultural and extra-curricular involvement.
The Brochure contains the detailed information regarding the Hostels, Fee structure, eligibility and some important guidelines for the students.
The University of Jammu provides hostel facility to its students and scholars. There are three girls hostels located on the main campus and four boys hostels, one of which is located in the old campus and other three in the new campus. The allotment to the hostels is done by Provost Hostels on the basis of composite merit.
Among others present on the occasion, were Prof Manoj K Dhar, Registrar, Prof Ramnika Jalali, Provost Girls Hostel, Prof Jasbir Singh, Provost Boys Hostel, Prof Pankaj K Srivasatav, Prof Mubarak Singh, Warden, Jaikumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC , Dr Satinder Kumar, Warden, Dr Gurdev Singh, Warden, Dr Lalit Sen, Warden, Dr Shashi Manhas, Warden, Dr Jaspal Singh, Resident Warden, Dr Gurjeet Kaur, Warden, Dr Rajni Bala, Warden and other officials of the University.
