Hit & run case solved, accused driver arrested

JAMMU, Dec 2: Panjtirthi Police solved hit and run case with the arrest of accused driver.
As per police sources, on November 24 this year, ASI Inderjeet Singh along with Constable Qayoom Ali and SPO Ashwani Kumar, was deployed at Manda for night duty and during the duty at midnight, one rashly driven car towards Jammu, lost its control and hit the check point, leaving the constable Qayoom Ali in a pool of blood, who later succumbed while being shifted to the hospital.
The driver along with vehicle fled away from the spot following which a case under FIR Number 196/2021 under Sections was registered and investigation started.
“As the accused was evading arrest but special teams headed by the In-charge Police Post Panjthrthi SI Ranjeet Chib, raids were carried out and finally the accused driver identified as Shah Mohd alias Jellu, son of Murad Ali of Bain Bajalta Distt Jammu was arrested.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
