JAMMU, Sept 14: ‘Hindi Divas’ was celebrated today with great fervor and enthusiasm by various institutions throughout the State.
In this connection, Hindi Pakhwara was organized in the office complex of Income Tax Department, Jammu. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Dr RD Sharma and Director, Jammu Doordarshan, Anjali Sharma, were the chief guests. On the occasion, Principal Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Sangeeta Gupta, enthralled the audience with recitation of her Hindi poem. Senior Drama Instructor of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Sudheer Mahajan and senior journalist, Yogita Yadav also recited their poems. Besides, a variety of competitions were organized and their winners awarded.
On the occasion, HQ Northern Command organized Hindi Pakhwara to propagate the Hindi language and its cultural heritage and values. During the programme, competitions such as Hindi noting and drafting, Hindi essay, Hindi typing through computer and Hindi debate was conducted in which all the units and establishments of the station participated. On the occasion, Brig Manoj Mohan, Commander TA Group HQ Northern Command, emphasized the audience about the importance of the Official Language in day-to-day work through Official correspondence in the offices of HQ Northern Command.
To celebrate the occasion, 15-day Hindi festival ‘Hindi Pakhwara’ commenced in the office of the Accountant General, J&K (A&E) and Pr Director, RTI, Jammu. The festival was inaugurated jointly by RK Pandita, Deputy Accountant General, J&K (A&E) and DD Verma, DAG (GS&SS) Srinagar. In order to inculcate interest and enhance employees’ participation in the celebration, various competitions viz essay writing, dictation, poetry recitation, quiz programme would be held during 15-day festival, which will conclude on September 29. In his inaugural speech, Pandita exhorted the employees to whole heartedly adopt Hindi in their day to day functioning as well as official work.
The Hindi Divas was also celebrated in Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, where Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with GCW Parade organized a Hindi Kahani Goshthi. Prof Rita Jatindra, former secretary, JKAACL, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary, JKAACL and Prof Kamini Tickoo, HoD Hindi, were also present in the presidium. The short stories were presented by Dr Om Goswami, Yogita Yadav, ChhatterPal, Maansi Sharma and Prof Rita Jatindra.
In connection with Hindi Diwas, Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur-Bantalab (Jammu) organized an extension lecture in Hindi. The programme was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr RL Shant (an eminent Hindi scholar and writer), College Principal, GL Koul. Dr RL Shant, an intellectual of great repute was the resource person. Besides extension lecture, slogan writing, Rangoli competition and signature in Hindi were the main highlights of the day.
A function to celebrate Hindi Divas was also organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor. Principal, SP Sharma presided over the function. 20 students participated in debate competition where as more than 30 students displayed their talent through charts. Head, Department of Hindi, Dr MK Mussa in his speech highlighted the significance of Hindi and resolved that Hindi should be given in status of national language.
Hindi Divas was also celebrated with great enthusiasm in Government Girdari Lal Dogra Memorial Degree College, Hiranagar. The function started with lighting of traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.13 students presented their views on the topic “Rashtriya Ekta avam Akhandta Ki Pratik Hindi”. Dr Naresh Kumar Gupta, Principal of the college, was the chief guest on the occasion.
In connection with Hindi Fortnight that is being celebrated throughout the country, the Department of Hindi, Government Degree College Mendhar, under the supervision of Prof Sanjogita Kumari celebrated Hindi Divas by organizing various programmes like Poster making, Poetry recitation and Symposium. On this occasion students recited the verses from ‘The Bhagwat Gita’, ‘Ram Chrit Mans’ and Dohas of Bhagat Kabir.
Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Hindi Divas today with great fervour and enthusiasm. To highlight the importance of Hindi as ‘Matra Bhasha ‘ volunteers of NSS Wing organized a poetry writing competition as a tribute to Hindi Language. The event was inaugurated by Ritu Jamwal, Principal of the Institute. Apart from it, impromptu speech competition was carried out during the Hindi Divas Samaroh in which the students show-cased their talent and creative skills.
Radio Kashmir, Srinagar and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) jointly observed ‘Hindi Diwas’ here at Seminar Hall of the Academy. Besides others, the programme was attended by noted writer and former Deputy Director General, Doordarshan, Farooq Nazki. As part of the event papers were read on the essence of the day by former broadcaster, Abdaal Mehjoor, and Hindi litterateur, Nida Nawaz. During the course of the programme, Ghazals in Hindi were sung by noted singers Munir Ahmad Mir and Deepali Wattal.
Delhi Public School, Jammu celebrated ‘Hindi Divas’ with great fanfare and enthusiasm. It was an attempt to promote and propagate the use of our national language and to explore the hidden talents of the students. The programme, which was presided over by Principal, Ruchi Chabra, started with the variety of cultural programmes including Saraswati Vandana, skit, Dohas and songs. While conducting these activities, students were helped to organize their thoughts and expression in Hindi.
To mark Hindi Divas and revive old ethnic eco friendly products and practices 376th Tree Talk was hosted in Ranbir Higher Secondary School Jammu where 100 students, tree talk enthusiasts and folk herbalists under the stewardship of OP Sharma Vidyarthi, Prof Bholanath, Principal K C Khajuria and Shashikant Lakhanpal participated. On the occasion, OP Sharma Vidyarthi planted Maulsari sapling and focused on edible forest trees.
Botany lecturer Shashi Kant Lakhanpal shared that campus has planted 152 species, all plants classifed and identified systematically by dignitaries namely CM, Dy CM, Minister for education, MoS Education & Culture and Principal SRML School.
A special assembly marked the occasion in Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua with speeches highlighting the birth of Hindi followed by recitation of poems in Hindi by various classes. A debate on the topic “Kya Hindi ka mahatav khatam ho gya hai” was also organized. An inter-house quiz competition was also organized. A skit was also performed by children. Principal Shuchita Gupta, awarded the winners.
Shangrilla Public School today celebrated Hindi Divas as a culmination of ‘Hindi Month’. The occasion was graced by Prabha Sharma, a retired Hindi Lecturer and a writer and poet in Hindi Literature, along with Principal, Sureshta Khajuria. The students gave various presentations in the form of story dramatization on various issues like respecting elders, importance time, nurturance of nature and being true to oneself.
Army Public School (APS), Akhnoor celebrated Hindi Week from September 7 to 14. During the week, different competitions like slogan making, self composed poems, Hindi writing and Hindi skits were held. Students and teachers also delivered speeches on the important of Hindi language. On the concluding day today, Principal, APS Akhnoor, KCS Mehta, laid emphasis on the importance of Hindi Language.
A function to celebrate Hindi Divas was also organized in Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sarwal under the chairmanship of Principal, Sureshta Dogra. A debate competition was organized and the winners were awarded by the principal.
On the eve of Hindi Divas a symposium to promote Hindi in our daily life was organized in the premises of Keshav Vidya Kender High School, Ramnagar. A large number of students participated in the symposium. Prominent poet and writer, Kuldeep Kumar Sharma, was the chief guest. In his speech, he threw light on the history of Hindi Divas celebration.
Hindi Divas was also celebrated with enthusiasm at Salaal Power Station. The function was inaugurated by Sri Prakash, Chief Engineer (Civil). Speaking on the occasion, Prakash appealed all the employees to adhere to the points suggested by Union Minister for Home and CMD, NHPC Ltd for implementation of Rajbhasha Hindi. The function also marked the culmination of ‘Hindi Pakhwara’ at Salal Power Station and the distribution prizes among the winners of various events organized during ‘Hindi Pakhwara’.
