SRINAGAR: A high-level meeting of senior police and Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPF) on Wednesday discussed overall security situation, particularly arrangements for free, fair and peaceful panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the Kashmir valley.
Official sources said the coordination meeting of forces presided over by Inspector General of Police and IG Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was held at Police Control Room (PCR).
The meeting was also attended by senior officers of CAPFs, they said. The meeting discussed prevailing security situation in the Kashmir valley.
Sources said arrangements for conducting free, fair and peaceful elections also came under discussion during the meeting.
They said providing security to contesting candidates besides protection of pollings and election staff were also discussed. (AGENCIES)
