JAMMU, Jan 7: High Court has directed the Commissioner Secretary to Government, Power Development Department, to consider the cases of the petitioners for promotion as Junior Engineers (Electrical) Grade-I.
The direction has been passed in a petition filed by Degree Holder JEs Grade-II, who claimed that they are eligible to be promoted to the post of JE (Electrical) Grade-I. It was submitted in the petition that the petitioners have completed the requisite service of five years in the year 2004 but still they are not being promoted to the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) Grade-I.
After hearing both the sides, Justice Sanjeev Kumar disposed of the petition with the direction to Commissioner Secretary, Power Development Department to consider the cases of the petitioners for their placement/promotion as Junior Engineer (Electrical) Grade-I with effect from the dates, the posts of Junior Engineer (Electrical) Grade-I were available with the department, subject to the condition that the petitioners were having requisite eligibility for the promotion on such date(s).
