Hardcore criminal arrested under PSA in Samba

SAMBA, Aug 13: In order to curtail the activities of Hardcore criminals, district police Samba detained a notorious criminal under the J&K Public Safety Act (PSA) for his criminal activities on the detention orders issued by the District Magistrate, Samba today.
Police said the accused Nazir Ahmad, S/o Ibrahim of TandaSupwal, tehsil and district Samba presently at Arnia tehsil R.S Pura district Jammu is a notorious criminal and is involved in multiple criminal cases and poses a big threat to the peace and unity of the society. There are number of instances wherein he has got apprehended in bovine smuggling, robbery and other criminal cases. He has become a threat to the public order, peace and tranquility thereby forcing the authorities to detain him under J&K Public Safety Act.
The list of the cases registered against him in PS Samba and PS Ghagwal include FIR No 234/2007 U/S 379 RPC of PS Samba, FIR No. 53/2013 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act of PS Ghagwal, FIR No. 50/2015 U/S 307/147/148/149 RPC, FIR No. 195/2015 U/ S 380 RPC and FIR No. 195/2016 U/S 376/366/442/ 147 RPC FIR No. 05/2018 U/S 307/353/332/336/427/147/148/ 149 RPC and FIR No. 194/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act all in PS Samba.
Police said keeping in view his repeated involvement in criminal activities, a dossier was prepared by Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba and forwarded to District Magistrate, Samba who formally issued the order of his detention under the PSA. The detention warrant was executed by a Police team headed by SHO P/S Samba and the accused has been lodged in Sub Jail Hiranagar.
