Sir,
Everywhere newspapers carry horrible tales of sexual harassment. Every women from womb to tomb feels scared and falls prey to sexual assault, whether in school, office or in deserted streets. Their modesty is attacked and they develop a complex and embrace death under painful circumstances.
The rising violence against women is a black scar on Indian society, who makes tall claims of equality and emancipation to fair sex. No concrete measures have been taken to curb alarming incidents of rape, molestation and sexual exploitation. The recent case of Gopal Kanda is a glaring example of it.
Unless stringent laws are made to deal with vulgar elements whether of high or low people, the fair sex is compelled to surrender as their chastity is always at stake.
The youngsters should be made conscious of the ancients Indian culture where “Nari” was held with great esteem. Policing can not curb this menace unless youth become conscious of the proverb, Gods prevail, where women are respected.
Yours etc….
