Harassment of employees unacceptable: EJAC

JAMMU, Feb 16: JK Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) today said that harassment to the Government employees under the garb of Article 226 (A) was unacceptable to the organization.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, EJAC leaders / senior trade unionists -Mohd Rafique Rather , Haji Bashir , Wajahat Duranie and others expressed serious concern over the harassment being meted out to the Government employees. They expressed dismay over the recent orders/ circulars issued by the Government which are in public domain regarding Article 226 (A) by which Government is collecting data of the employees falling under 22-48 years.
Rather said such orders have created chaos and confusion in the minds of employees fraternity and they are feeling insecure and harassed. He laid stress on removing such confusions which have added to the anxiety of government employees who are already working in extremely adverse working conditions.
He further said that the issue of regularization of over 61,000 adhoc/ daily wagers/ casual labouers and other type of temporary workers including MGNREGA, NRHM, HDF, Anganwari , Asha workers, Scheme workers is still pending and the employees are even not being paid their wages. Even the EJAC approached Advisors Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and Baseer Ahmed Khan but the issues could not be resolved till date .
Meanwhile, on this occasion, provincial body for Jammu was also announced by Rather. Rajesh Jamwal was declared as president of EJAC for Jammu province, Mrignanie Salathia as vice president, Darshan Lal -general secretary, Omesh Kumar Raina – secretary, Sanjay Kumar -organizer while Lal Singh as coordinator of the Provincial unit.
