Hakla for delimitation of Assembly segments

POONCH, June 18 : Shamsher Hakla Poonchi a prominent Gujjjar leader and intellectual today demanded fresh delimitation of Assembly constituencies in the State.
In a statement issued here today he said the delimitation had not been conducted in J&K for a long time in spite of the fact that the population and number of electorate has rapidly increased. In view of the same there is an immediate need of delimitation of Assembly constituencies.
He said that without conducting delimitation of Assembly constituencies and without reserving Assembly segment for Gujjar & Bakarwal in the State conducting of Assembly poll is useless. He appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi & Union Home Minister Amit Shah to issue order for conducting delimitation of Assembly constituencies in the State and reservation of Assembly segments and Lok Sabha Segments for Gujjar and Bakarwal community of J&K.
Hakla said that the political reservation was compulsory for the Gujjars and Bakarwals of J&K who have been already given Scheduled Tribe status by Government of India in the year 1991.
