KATRA, Sept 17: Police apprehended two drug peddlers in Nomain area under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station and recovered heroin like substance from their possession.
On the intervening night, a team of Police Station Katra during checking at PCP Nomain intercepted a vehicle (Maruti Alto) bearing registration number JK20B-9810, which was on way to Katra town from the Domail side.
During search, about 7.6 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the possession of two persons travelling in the car. Identified as Ajay Singh, son of Raghubir Singh, resident of Gunni, Parthal, Tehsil Katra and Yashpal Singh son of Joginder Singh, resident of Parthal, Katra, the duo was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, case FIR number 260/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up.
According to Police, accused Ajay Singh is a habitual offender, involved in multiple criminal cases registered earlier at different Police Stations, including offences under the NDPS Act, IPC and Arms Act.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra, Khyatimaan Khajuria and supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
