DODA, Sept 17: Police here today foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued five bovines.
A routine Naka checking was established at Dunaddi Kalnai by cops from Police Station Thathri headed by SHO Thathri under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah.
During checking, a vehicle of Tata Mobile make bearing registration number JK06B-2364 was intercepted and on its search, 5 bovines were found loaded in the vehicle without food or water arrangements and were being transported illegally in a cruel manner.
Driver of the vehicle, Irfan Ahmed, son of Mohd Iqbal Laway, resident of Bagla, Doda, was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized.
In this regard, an FIR with No. 56/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA was registered at Police Station Thathri and investigation started.
