JAMMU, July 13: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) on Thursday expressed concern over the skyrocketing inflation in J&K and claimed that poorest of the poor, daily wagers and the salaried class are feeling the heat.
In a handout J&K NDPI chief, Rajesh Gupta said the inflation rate has touched 7.59 per cent in J&K which is even higher than the national inflation rate of 6.95 per cent.
“Continuous price rise is hitting common man the most and the administration has failed to take meaningful steps to curb it,” he maintained adding: “Soaring prices of essential commodities in the face of salary cuts and job losses have inflicted a double blow to the common man especially those from the middle and lower-middle income groups and those below the poverty line.”
