JAMMU, July 13: A drug peddler was arrested with 3.30 grams of heroin from Akhnoor area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma apprehended a suspect from Chandianm, Jia Pota, during routine naka checking.
During search of the suspect identified as Rahul Sharma of Lower Gharota, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, 3.30 grams of heroin was recovered, he said.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 196/2023 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
