Govt should agree on genuine demands of farmers: Manohar

KATHUA, Feb 10: Former Minister and President DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today said that Indian farmers have been protesting since last some months against the new farm laws but the Government is not paying any heed towards this.
Addressing public meetings at Dayalachak and Billawar, Sharma flayed NDA Government at the Center and claimed that new farm laws will change the rules of sale, pricing and storage of crops from agricultural regions.
The Congress leader said that the protesting farmers are representing 130 crore people of the country.
“I feel immense pain when these farmers are outraged by being termed as anti-nationals by BJP leaders,” he said adding that the Government should find amicable solution and address the grievances of farmers sympathetically.
“Until the demands of the farmers are not met, Congress will continue to support their protest,” he maintained.
Sharma also urged upon J&K LG administration to look into the issue of protesting Rehbar-e-Khel teachers and other adhoc employees.
Senior Congress leader D.S Bindu, Brijeshwar Singh, Indu, Kulbushan Singh, Sarpanch, Kulbir Singh Pathania, Anil Sharma, Surinder Singh, Karam Chand Khajuria, Kamal Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Kulbushan Sharma, Krishan Sapolia, Mohinder Paul Sharma, Rashpal Singh, Kundan Lal Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Banarsi Dass, Swarn Singh, Dilbir Singh Sethy, Taramani Verma and others were also present in the public meetings.
