POONCH, July 13: A Govt school which had suffered devastating damage during 2014 floods in Chhatral area is still lying in shambles and no proper protection work has been done by the concerned agencies so far to protect further possible damage during rainy season.
Not only this, a power Grid Station also suffered damage but there is also, no protection work done so far. During this rainy season, the people are apprehending massive flood again and extensive damage to these buildings.
The locals of Chhatral area in a meeting today said that there is possibility of floods, mud and land slides again. The people have not forgotten the floods of Sept 2014. The fear of similar flood a haunting them day and night. Chattral Higher Secondary School with one Boys Middle School and one Girls Middle school was badly affected by floods and a Grid Station nearby this Govt HSCat Chhatral.
The locals demanded proper care and protection works around school and Grid Station on war footing. They sought urgent intervention of DC Poonch and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma to protect these structures.
