JAMMU, July 13: Gangyal police under ‘Operation Amrit’ arrested a man and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station conducted raid in village Smailpur Kothey near Sehora and nabbed a person along with 40 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Parbhakar Singh, son of Naseeb Singh, a resident of Smailpur Kothey.
He was carrying the illicit liquor pouches to his native village for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 59/18 under Section 48-F Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal SI Nayat Ali made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
