Govt Polytechnic organizes mega job fair

JAMMU, Jan 15: A mega job fair was inaugurated today by Principal Secretary Skill Development Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon.
The job fair was organized by Government Polytechnic Bikram Chowk Jammu in its campus in which more than 1200 students of Polytechnic and ITI participated. More than 35 multi-national companies and local industries participated to hire the Diploma Polytechnic and ITI students.
Dr. Samoon was accompanied by Director Skill Development, Sajjad Hussain Ganaie; Dr. M.Y Peerzada, Director Higher Education; Anoo Malhotra, Director Industries and Commerce; Arun Bangotra, Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Jammu; Adil, Director Tulas Institute Dehradun and other officers of the department.
Dr Samoon while speaking on the occasion laid stress on various challenges a student faces in seeking job and encouraged the students to convert such challenges into fruitful opportunities by continuous hard work and dedication.
In his welcome address, Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college briefed about various industries and companies participating in the event.
He said that mega job fair was organized with an endeavour to provide employment opportunities to Polytechnic and ITI students in 35 renowned multinational, national and local companies such as Voltas, KGK group, P2 Power solutions, Kinetic communications, John Deere Tractors, Rackon India, Microtek, Nainko Exim Pvt. Ltd, U-Flex, RavenBhel, Kandhari Beverages, Jai Beverages, Sun Pharma etc.
Training and Placement Cell of Government Polytechnic under guidance of Rajesh Khajuria, TPO made arrangements for the smooth conduct of job fair.
Sakshi Kapai, Lecturer conducted proceeding of the programme and Jasdeep Kour presented vote of thanks.
Ritu Jamwal, Principal, Women Polytechnic Jammu; Rajinder Gupta, Principal, ITI Jammu; Rajesh Gupta, Supdt Women ITI, Jammu; Inderjeet Singh, Kuldeep Bhatia, Ritika Wadera, Sanjay Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Vinay Gupta, Tariq Amin, Zia-ul Haq Kohli, Rajeev Kohli, staff and students of the college were also present on the occasion.
