Govt establishes Special Migrant Cell in Delhi

JAMMU, Apr 5: Government today ordered establishment of Special Cell for Migrants in the Resident Commission, J&K Government, New Delhi to coordinate the matters relating to migrants.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), consequent upon the creation of SCM, Dr Shafqat Khan, awaiting orders of adjustment in Health & Medical Education Department, has been transferred and posted in the office of Resident Commission, J&K Govt, New Delhi and designated as Joint Resident Commissioner, New Delhi. He will head SCM and coordinate the matters relating to migrants.
The Government also ordered posting of Ashu Kumari, Junior Scale KAS of 2012-1 batch, presently posted as Tehsildar, Relief Organization (Migrants), Jammu, as Under Secretary in the office of Resident Commission, J&K Government, New Delhi.
“However, on her repatriation from the Resident Commission, she will undergo requisite rotational posting prior to her promotion to Senior Time scale of KAS,” the order said.
It said the other requisite staff for SCM will be provided by the Principal Resident Commissioner, J&K Government, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, in a separate order, the Government said that the salary in respect of the officers/officials deployed, on compassionate grounds, from other departments in the Resident Commission, J&K Government, New Delhi shall be henceforth drawn by their parent Departments /Controlling Officers on production of monthly attendance certificate from the Resident Commission, New Delhi.
