JAMMU, Apr 5: In separate cases, two persons including a mentally ill woman were today found dead in mysterious circumstances at their respective residences in city outskirts.
“Nitika, daughter of Ram Parkash, resident of Rajiv Nagar (Narwal), was found lying in unconscious condition at her residence by her parents this afternoon,” a police official said.
He said that the family members shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile in Ranjan area falling under the limits of police station Gharota, a woman namely Santosh Devi (40) wife of Kartar Chand was found dead at her residence in mysterious circumstances.
“The woman was allegedly mentally ill and used to take medicines for her illness”, a police official said, quoting family members. He said the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites and inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC initiated in the case.
