Govt admits water shortage in Jammu West

JAMMU, Feb 26: Government today admitted shortage of 1 MGD water in the Jammu West Assembly Constituency.
Replying to the Calling Attention Notice of Prof Chaman Lal Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah, on behalf of the Minister Incharge PHE, said that against a daily requirement of 23.50 MGD about 22.50 MGD water is supplied resulting into shortfall of 1 MGD in the Jammu West Assembly constituency.
“Three tube wells are being drilled through ERA at PHE Station New Plot, PHE Station Bakshi Nagar and Missionaries of Charity at Talli Morh Janipur”, the Minister said, adding “out of these three tube wells the work at Bakshi Nagar is in progress”.
The Minister said that these tube wells would be completed by July 1, 2015.
