JAMMU, May 20: Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) Jayant Choudhary will distribute job letters to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir at Jammu during Rozgar Mela on May 23 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give around 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth through video conferencing at about 45 locations across the country.

Jayant Choudhary will attend the function at Jammu and distribute appointment letters to 220 selected youth from Jammu and Kashmir after the Prime Minister’s virtual address to the appointees.
Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh will co-ordinate the programme from New Delhi and address the fresh recruits.
The selected candidates will be appointed to various posts in departments including Railways, Postal and Financial Services, Medical Departments and Banks. The appointments will cover technical, non-technical and safety category posts.
Excelsior had earlier exclusively reported that the 19th Rozgar Mela will be held on May 23 in which the Prime Minister will distribute around 51,000 appointment letters and address the appointees through video conferencing.
Last Rozgar Mela was held across the country on January 24, 2026 in which the Prime Minister distributed 61,000 job letters through video conferencing while the Union Ministers and other dignitaries gave the letters physically at 45 locations including the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
However, the Rozgar Mela couldn’t be held in-between due to imposition of Model Code of Conduct by the Election Commission of India in view of Assembly elections in five States/UT. The MCC ended with completion of election process a day before.
The Railways Ministry accounts for majority of jobs in the 19th Rozgar Mela. However, several other Central Ministries have also finalized the appointment letters.
Meanwhile, an official statement issued here by the Northern Railways said, it’s Jammu division will organize a ‘Rozgar Mela’ on May 23, during which appointment letters will be distributed to nearly 220 selected youth from Jammu and Kashmir.
“The event is part of the Government of India’s flagship employment campaign aimed at providing transparent and merit-based Government job opportunities to youth across the country. The Rozgar Mela seeks to empower young aspirants by inducting them into various Government services and encouraging their active participation in nation-building under the vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat”,” the statement said.
During the programme, the appointees will also take an oath to serve the nation with dedication and uphold the spirit of “Nation First”.
Speaking about the event, Divisional Railway Manager Jammu, Vivek Kumar said that youth are the greatest asset of the nation and Jammu Division is proud to host the prestigious Rozgar Mela.
“The 23rd of May will bring new hope and opportunities for nearly 220 families. This initiative will further strengthen economic stability and social empowerment in the region,” he said.
