Governor approves Rs 46 lakh for treatment of poor patients

JAMMU, Feb  7: Governor, N.N. Vohra, has approved release of Rs. 29.78 lakh out of Cancer Treatment Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP) for the treatment of 77 cancer patients, on the recommendation of the Committee constituted under CTMFFP.
The Raj Bhavan spokesperson disclosed that under CTMFFP, SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar will get Rs. 17.85 lakh for treatment of 52 cancer patients; GMC, Srinagar will get Rs. 6.73 lakh for 14 cancer patients; GMC, Jammu will get Rs. 3.22 lakh for 7 cancer patients; PGI Chandigarh will get Rs. 1.48 lakh for 3 cancer patients and Apollo Hospital will get Rs. 50, 000 for one cancer patient.
Similarly, on the recommendation of Medical Aid Committee, the Governor has approved release of Rs.17.09 lakh for the treatment of 83 patients.
The Raj Bhavan spokesperson disclosed that SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar will get Rs.14.28 lakh for the treatment of 68 patients; GMC, Srinagar will get Rs. 1.45 lakh for treatment of 8 patients; PGI, Chandigarh will get Rs. 72,500 for treatment of 4 patients while GMC, Jammu will get Rs. 6,500; Sir Ganga Ram Hospital will get Rs. 50,000 and C.D. Hospital Srinagar will get Rs. 6,700 for the treatment of one patient each.
