Goods worth lakhs gutted in GVK office fire

KISHTWAR, Jan 13: Goods worth several lakhs reduced to ashes  in fire at GVK office here today.
As per police sources, GVK had hired building of Rajinder Sharma near Government Degree College, Kishtwar for office purpose.
After the Project Director, Ratle Hydro Project and Deputy Project Director left their jobs, the furniture, electronics and other daily use items were dumped in this office. Last night locals spotted flames coming out from a room and informed the fire services and GVK authorities.
Due to efforts of fire services and locals, fire was restricted to one room. In the incident material including furniture, electronics and other daily use items worth several lakhs got gutted. Reportedly the room used for office purpose is safe.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
