LOS ANGELES, Jan 29: “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard says he can’t wait for the audience to watch his upcoming movie “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”, which he described as a film full of humour.
The 17-year-old actor, who plays Trevor in the Jason Reitman-directed movie, said the trailer doesn’t do justice to the film.
“The trailer only showed some of it, but it’s a ‘Ghostbusters’ movie so it’s a really funny film. Every scene has comedy in it. I’m excited for people to see more of the humour in the movie,” Wolfhard told The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor, also known for his performance in “The Turning”, said it was fun to play a “totally naive” character like Trevor.
“He’s a pretty dumb character. It’s not that he’s written dumb, he’s just a dumb teenager and totally naive. Everything is way over his head. He’s obsessed with cars and girls. So it’s really fun to play him,” he said.
Jason Reitman, whose directorial credits includes movies such as “Juno” and “Up in the Air”, is directing and producing the latest installment of the popular “Ghostbusters” franchise. He has co-written the screenplay with Gil Kenan.
“Afterlife” is the direct sequel to “Ghostbusters” (1984) and “Ghostbusters II” (1989).
Jason Reitman’s father, Ivan Reitman, had directed the original “Ghostbusters” films which featured Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis as parapsychology professors who hunts ghosts.
Murray and Aykroyd, along with Sigourney Weaver, will reprise their roles for the new film. Returning members also include Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson.
Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon and McKenna Grace are the new entrants. (PTI)
