Ghagwal police rescues 5 bovines

SAMBA, Aug 26: In continuation to its drive against bovines smuggling, district Police Samba successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing five bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Ghagwal.
A police party of PS Ghagwal, during night surprise naka at NHW Jatwal, signalled a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing Registration Number JK08E-9033 coming from Madoon side to stop. On seeing the naka party, the driver accelerated the speed of vehicle but after being chased by the naka party the driver abandoned the vehicle at a few meters distance and managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found laden inside it without any permission. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 93/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation taken up.
