JAMMU, Aug 27: Expressing resentment over continuous delay in resolving the legitimate demands of confirmation of all the Lab Assistants, Junior Assistants and Library Assistants through Departmental Promotion Committee, General Line Teachers Forum has threatened indefinite hunger strike from September 6 if the Government does not concede their demands.
“This unnecessary delay in their confirmation for the last four years speaks the volume of mismanagement, inefficient functioning and lack of commitment towards the work by the officers at helm of affairs, who put these class IV employees to trouble from time to time having their no fault,” said Neeraj Sharma, president of the General Line Teachers Forum, while addressing a press conference, here today.
Neeraj explained that they are demanding immediate issuance of an order for the release of Charge Allowance in favour of all the Lab Assistants and Junior Assistants who are working in their own pay and grade since 2014, without any service benefits and their second demand was for constituting a DPC to confirm all the Lab Assistants and Junior Assistants, who were promoted in the year 2014. He also demanded inclusion of the names of 20 Lab Assistants in the recently issued promotion list of Teachers, who were dropped on the pretext of non confirmation by DPC.
“Injustice and discrimination with these people is increasing day by day, which can be gauged from the recently issued promotion list of Class IV employees to Lab Assistants and Junior Assistants, whereby all the promotes are given the benefit of Charge allowance and other service benefits till their confirmation by the DPC while those promoted in 2014 have not been provided with any such kind of allowances and service benefits,” he elaborated and added that the aggrieved employees were feeling betrayed due to highly irresponsible and egregious conduct of officers which is totally unacceptable.
General Line Teachers Forum demanded immediate end to this step motherly treatment and urge upon the Government to resolve this sensitive issue before 5th of September, 2018. “If Govt. fails to resolve the issue, then Forum will go for indefinite chain hunger strike from 6th of September onwards,” he announced.
Neeraj Sharma was accompanied by Tajinder Singh, Ramneesh Khajuria, Digvijay Singh, Amit Dabgotra, Vijay Singh Chib, Sham Lal, Dev Raj, Ashwani, Champa, Harpreet, Wasim Chowdhary, Imtiaz Ali, Behari Lal and others.
