KATHUA Aug 27: Kathua Police today recovered the kidnapped youth Showkat Ali of Marheen, Rajbagh from Korepunnu area of the district.
Police said the youth was kidnapped recently and on August 25 a report was lodged at Police Station, Rajbagh and a video also became viral on social media in this regard.
Police immediately took cognizance and registered a case under relevant sections of the Law. Special teams were constituted to trace the victim and they raided different suspicious locations .
In the wee hours today, police raided a suspected location in Korepunnu area where the victim was kept in captivity by some unknown persons who managed to escape noticing police movement. Police recovered Showkat Ali in the process. Further efforts are going on to nab all the accused involved, police said.
Kathua police assured to people that all the accused involved in the case would be brought to justice. It further appealed them not to pay any heed to malicious propaganda intentionally made by some vested interests against police.
