UDHAMPUR, Aug 27: In order to gear up the Revenue agency for the preparation of Revenue record, the Regional Director Survey and Land Records, Udhampur Rajesh Kumar Shavan, took a review meeting, which was attended by SDMs, all Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of District Udhampur.
In the meeting, the Regional Director reviewed the progress of preparation of Jamabandies, attestation of Mutations and other Revenue related work. Each Tehsildar presented the progress of Revenue work pertaining to his Tehsil.
However, the Regional Director expressed his great displeasure on the poor progress of writing of Jamabandies. He said that some Tehsildars have miserably failed to achieve their targets and warned them of toughest action if any laxity is found in future. He said that not even a single Jamabandi has been prepared in the District since May 2017, when he had left the Department owing to his transfer to the JDA.
He advised them to conduct regular meetings of Patwaries / Girdawars in their Tehsils and get the work expedited by all means.
It was directed by the Regional Director that the company shall arrange at least two days orientation / training progrmmes for the Revenue field staff so that they are sensitized about the DILRMP.
The monthly targets of Jamabandies and Mutations were assigned to every Tehsildars / SDM. The Regional Director emphasized on the Revenue officers to conduct field tours and organize the Revenue camps to address the Revenue related matters regularly so that record is updated regularly.
The Project Co-ordinator of Ram Tech Company, Dr R K Rana Singh, while briefing the Director, stated that around eight lakh documents in the Central Record Room and about six lakh in the Regional Record Room Udhampur have been scanned. He said that the Quality check of these documents is under progress but due to shortage of man power the pace is slow and needs to be expedited by the department.
In the meeting, it was conveyed that the work of fixing of primary control points and secondary points has been almost completed in the entire State and now the priority was to get the updated Jamabandies for digitization.
