BHADERWAH, Oct 17: A symposium on “Disaster Management” was organized by the NCC unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah in the college premises.
A large number of cadets and students participated in the symposium. The function was presided over the principal of the college, Dr RK Raina while Col Vikram Chander, CO 2nd J&K Ind Coy, NCC Bhaderwah was the chief guest.
Dr Javed Iqbal NCC Officer of the college highlighted the importance of the symposium and presented inaugural address on Disaster Management,
Nearly 10 to 15 speakers presented their papers on Disaster Management out of which Akhlash Kotwal, Touqeef and Babar secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively while as Jaffer Hussain and Younis Raza got consolation prizes.
Earlier during the week a seminar on Health and Hygiene was also conducted to highlight the importance of cleanliness drives carried out by the cadets in connection with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
