GCW Parade organizes book review competition

JAMMU, May 19: A book review activity was conducted in the smart classroom by the Literary Club of GCW Parade Jammu today.
Entries were invited from the students of different Departments and after scrutiny, eight students were selected for the final event. The chief guest and patron of the event was Dr. S.P Sarswat (Principal GCW Parade).
The welcome address was given by Dr. Shalini Sharma Convenor Literary Committee . She highlighted the importance of book review by saying thatitnot only inspires confidence among readers but also improvises cognitive skills of the students.
Dr S.P Sarswat applauded the efforts of the literary club forcombining technology with literature. He also said that holding such events will enable students to develop their analytical skills by interpreting impressions from a specific book.
The Judges of the event were Dr. Ritu Mangotra (HoD, Department of English), Samriti Manchanda (Associate Professor, Department of English), Dr. Snober Chib (Assistant Professor, Department of Punjabi).
Renu Angurana (Associate Professor Department of English), Dr. Anju Bala (Associate Professor Department of English) Dr. Anita Sharma (Department of Mathematics), Maneka Thapa (Assistant Professor, Department of English) also graced the occasion. Navya Shrivats from semester IV bagged the first position while second position was secured by Miss Vanshika Sharma, Semester IV and third position went to Shivani Sharma, Semester IV. The program was concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr. Pallavi Jamwal (Assistant Professor Department of Zoology.
