SAMBA, May 28: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga today kick started the work of a deep drain to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 5lkh at Channi Kartholi in Bari Brahmana.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the all genuine demands of the people pertaining to the development of the area would be redressed in phase manner and people would sure see the change on ground.
Stressing on the need to create durable assets, Ganga directed the officers of PWD(R&B) to closely monitor the work on daily basis and to ensure that quality norms are strictly adhered to  while executing the works.
Later the Minister convened a meeting of officers of PHE, PDD and PWD(R&B) to review the functioning of these departments.
During the meeting, the Minister directed the PDD department to take requisite measures to augment   power supply in the area.  He also reviewed the status of RAPDRP works & Rural Electrification project and asked the authorities to work in coordination to  clear the bottlenecks in execution of works.
The Minister directed the PHE Department to work efficiently so that the consumers would get adequate supply of drinking water especially in Kandi area.
Officers of PWD(R&B) department informed the Minister about the status of various works being executed by the Department. Ganga directed the officials to have close check on the quality of works and ensure timely completion of the works.
Among others, XeN PHE Sarwan Singh, XeN PDD Sanjeev Bhagat, XeN PWD(R&B) Dinesh Rampal, concerned officers and locals were present on the occasion.
