JAMMU, Dec 6: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that the Gandhi Nagar hospital was being equipped with advance medicare facilities to tackle the increasing rush of patients and reduce number of referral cases to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital (SMGSH).
He said for this purpose facilities at par with Government Medical College are being created in the hospital.
The Minister was chairing a meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) of Gandhi Nagar hospital, here this morning.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Romesh Gupta, Environmentalist Ruchi Chauhan, Executive Engineer R&B Ranjan Mengi besides other members of Rogi Kalan Samiti were present in the meeting.
Bhalla asked the hospital authorities to provide best possible medicare to patients and maintain hygienic environment in the hospital. He said health sector was accorded priority and Government was making all out efforts to improve patient care facilities in every nook and corner of the State by opening new hospitals, sub-centres and dispensaries.
Taking review of the ongoing developmental works in the hospital, the Minister asked the concerned functionaries to start the work for face lifting of old OPD, emergency theatre, Intensive Care Unit, VD STD section, X-ray, laboratory, treatment and resuscitation room, analyzer room, blood bank, old physiotherapy, gynae operation theatres, labour rooms besides street lights and old Ortho wards,. He said for this purpose funds are available under Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and RKS funds.
Regarding drinking water facilities in the hospital, Bhalla said PHE Department has identified a site and prepared the estimates for digging a mini Tube Well, adding that soon after release of funds the digging work would be started.
The Minister asked the hospital management to install air-conditioners in newly constructed Dialysis and old patient care wards out of HDF funding so that the patient could not face inconvenience during summer. He asked the PDD to upgrade the existing installed transformers to ensure improved power supply to the hospital.
Bhalla asked the medical and para-medical officers to provide best medicare facilities to ailing humanity and remain punctual in the hospitals for the benefit of the patients.
The Minister asked the hospital authorities to prepare a detailed project report and submit the same to the Government to take up urgent nature of works in the hospital like erection of aluminum gate at the entrance of indoor block, installation of voltage stabilizers in the emergency, Indoor blocks, renovation of toilet block of ward No. No. 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and SNCU, construction of roof between Component lab and Blood bank, construction of Asha Garh, purchase of oxygen cylinders, purchase of computer for control room, 100 KVA DG set, 5 KVA Servo Transformer for Laproligation theatre, RO system for Dialysis unit, installation of fully automatic Biochemistry Analyser, construction of emergency Fire Exits and purchase of new fire fighting equipments.
Earlier, Bhalla also visited Bhour Pind and Gangyal and listened to the development related problems of the people.
