JAMMU, Feb 7: In order to make various processes and procedures simple and hassle free in Industries Department, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, Financial Commissioner, Industries and Commerce Department chaired a high level meeting of officers and other stake holders of Industries and Commerce Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ganai put forward the blue print for various steps to be adopted for “Ease to do business” in Jammu and Kashmir. Stating that industries have to play a pivotal role in the economic development of the State, he outlined the need for doing away with procedures which are repetitive and archaic. Moreover, he stressed on switching over to web-enabled services for making systems swift, time bound, transparent and hassle- free.
Financial Commissioner directed the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) to review the time period for issuing consent to operate (CTO) and Consent to Establish (CTE), preferably within a month’s time. He further asked for linking of various related departments with the National e-Biz portal. All the departments/Corporations were asked to come up their websites.
Dr. Abdul Rashid, Director, Industries and Commerce, Jammu gave a power point presentation highlighting various steps proposed under “Ease to do business” in Industries Department for providing an enabling environment to the entrepreneurs. The various measures suggested include making single window system more vibrant, providing online services to entrepreneurs, integration of various clearances required to set up the enterprise and skill up gradation of staff employed at the cutting edge level.
