RAMBAN, May 19: The front portion of a tunnel near Khooni Nallah on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway collapsed here late tonight.
However, two persons were rescued and several others were trapped under the debris.
As per reports, the under construction tunnel near Khooni Nallah on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway collapsed late tonight.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the personnel of other allied agencies.
Two persons trapped under the debris were rescued. However, the operation was launched to rescue the trapped persons.
No casualties were reported in the incident when last reports were compiled.
Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
When contacted SP Ramban Mohita Sharma told the EXCELSIOR that the under construction tunnel has collapsed and several persons are trapped under the debris.
Two persons has been rescued and operation is going on to rescue other persons trapped under the debris, she added.
