JAMMU : A fresh small batch of 707 pilgrims today left for the Holy Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine from Bhagwati Nagar’s Yatri Niwas base camp here amid rains.
“A batch of 707 pilgrims comprising 541 males, 43 females, six children, 35 sadhus and 12 sadhvis left for the cave shrine in a fleet of 20 vehicles,” a police spokesperson said.
He said that the vehicles included 17 State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) buses and three Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs).
The first bus left at 0430 hrs while the last bus left at 0440 hrs amid tight security arrangements.
