Free cataract surgeries of BPL patients conducted

JAMMU, Nov 4: We Care Welfare Society (WCWS) organized free cataract surgeries of BPL patients at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ved Mandir, Ambphalla, Jammu.
The beneficiary patients were screened out from the free medical camp which was held on Sept 15 at Panchayat Kotli Bajalian. They were invited to the hospital, one day in advance, for conducting all necessary tests required for surgery. Free lodging & boarding were also arranged.
All the patients which required surgery, were operated upon and medicines and spectacles were provided free of cost for proper post operative care. The surgeries were done by Dr Debapriya Chaterjee, Ophthalmologist, free of cost.
Prof M Sadiq Nargal, chairman, WCWS, said that Sarpanch Santosh Devi of Kotli Bajalian helped a lot to make this noble mission a success. He said that in rural areas of Jammu province a lot of people are suffering from eye problems and WCWS is planning to organize such free eye camps for benefit of these people in future too.
WCWS president Dr R K Gupta, Senior vice president Rajiv Luthra, vice president women wing Sudershan Gupta, general secretary Rajinder Gupta, treasurer Kuldip Uppal and executive members– Sanjeev Luthra, Anil Gupta, Subash Jandyal, Shyam Jandyal, Indu Bhat, Veenu Uppal, Surinder Singh, Surjit Kour, V K Tandon, Harish Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Bachan Kumar, Naresh Suri and Madan also assisted in the program.
