JAMMU, Nov 4: The Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP) today denied a new item published in the Excelsior on November 2 pertaining to inviting of applications and allotment of land through online modes in the absence of Internet services.
“The mere receipt of applications through online mode doesn’t mean that the allotment has been made. SICOP has a limited role of inviting applications from the prospective entrepreneurs but the actual allotment is done by Single Window Clearance Committee of the concerned districts as per the Industrial Policy 2016-26,’’ the SICOP Managing Director said in an official statement.
He said the SICOP had identified patch of land free from encumbrances. In order to avoid any further encroachment and to allot the land to prospective entrepreneurs for which it has been transferred to SICOP, online applications were invited and the issue was made public through advertisement, which was published in the local dailies.
He said in response to online applications for allotment of land in the Industrial Estates Sports Goods Complex, Bijbehara, various prospective entrepreneurs have applied online against the advertisement issued by the Corporation. Their cases are already with the Single Window Clearance Committee for consideration.
“Therefore, the allegations made by some vested interests are not based on the facts and they are trying to malign image of the Corporation on flimsy grounds,’’ the SICOP Managing Director said, adding the Corporation will make public the availability of land at HMT Zainakote through local press as and when the land is vacated by the security forces, who were stationed there since long.
