JAMMU, June 29:  The Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association (JKATA) has urged upon the State authorities to frame the service rules for  Village Agriculture Extension Assistants (VAEAs) at par with the Junior  Agriculture Extension Officers (JAEOs)  in  the State Agriculture Production Department.
Addressing a press conference here today,  Dr Surinder Radotra, president of the Association expressed concern over the delay being caused in framing service rules of Village Agriculture Extension Assistant (VAEAs). He stressed that grades for the both should be equal.
He pointed out that  it is a sheer humiliation and embarrassing situation for them as they are also Agriculture Graduates, Post Graduates and VAEAs are also posses the same degrees  and even score of VAEAs are having doctorate qualification but they are bound to work in the lower grade where as matriculate JAEOs/ graduate JAEOs are enjoying the higher grades which may kindly be looked into to rationalize the grade disparity.
Dr  Radotra demanded that the  long pending notification of SRO  incorporating the grade parity at par with JAEOs may  be issued, as it required urgently to safeguard their  service carrier, otherwise, they will exist nowhere in any feeding cadre. He demanded that SRO for the non-gazatted Agriculture Services is the need of the hour.
He said all the Graduate JAEOs are presently working in the grade pay of 4800 and 5200, having privilege of INSITU promotions from time to time  but they have been remained deprived of this benefit. They have placed in grade of 4280.
Dr Radotra  said Govt while framing our regularization policy assured us that the of regularization will be after 5 years on the pattern of RETs but they have backstabbed Agriculture technocrats by taking 9 years time  and framing policy which is grave injustice to them. Moreover,  Govt assured that  service of REZ to be included in regular service as the average length of service is less than 20 years of VAEAs  with old  pension scheme but Govt  again failed to keep its commitment.
The Govt is framing our service rules without  and Association strongly demands that they should be taken into confidence before framing such rules and it was stressed that service rules should be as per JAEOs, Radotra said.
Vinod Sharma – chairman JKATA, RS Chib, Harmeet Singh and Amit Sharma were also present.
