Govt School Education Officers highlight demands

JAMMU, June 29: A meeting of J&K Government School Education Officers Association was held under the chairmanship of Paramjit Singh, president of the Association, for discussing the issues and demands of the School Education Officers.
The meet demanded regularization of  all the Incharge Officers i.e. Headmasters, Principals, ZEOs and equivalent,  treating services of the officers, rendered during vacation as Non- Vocational at par with their counterparts,   grade of 9300-34800 with the grade pay 5400 to Headmasters at par with +2 Lecturers by removing anomaly, increase in promotional quota of Headmasters from 20 percent to 50 percent while promoting as Principal, change of nomenclature from Headmaster to Principal Senior Secondary School, increasing the posts of Senior Headmaster to 33 percent at par with +2 Lecturers, sanctioning new posts of ZEPOs, etc
The Education Officers were anguished over the delay tactics of the Government to  mitigate their problems in general and regularization of the Officers in particular. The officer threatened the Government that if their demands are not conceded, they will start State wide agitation.
The meeting was attended by Himmat Rai, Mohinder Raina, Rafiq Khan, Balwan Singh, Jagan Nath, Bodh Raj, Girdharl Lal, Vijay Kumar, Kishori Lal, Ram Lal, Hardutt Sharma, Roshan Lal, Romesh Chander and others.
