Four peddlers held, heroin recovered

JAMMU, Jan 23: Police arrested four peddlers from two different locations of Jammu today and recovered 9.5 grams of heroin from their possession.
“A team of Police Station Bishnah constituted under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Vikram Sharma rounded up three suspects namely Manjot Singh son of Daljeet Singh, Gagandeep Singh son of Baljeet Singh and Manpreet Singh son of Mohinder Singh, all residents of Simbal Camp (Jammu) when they were coming from Makhanpur towards Bishnah side on a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CB-5826,” a police spokesman said.
He said during search, total 6 grams of heroin i.e. 2 grams from each of them, was recovered. “In this regard, a case FIR Number 25/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bishnah and the accused arrested.
The spokesman further revealed that Miran Sahib also rounded up a suspect identified as Mohinder Pal Singh son of Amar Singh, resident of Tinday Kalan (RS Pura), during a naka. “During search, 3.5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR Number 20/2023 U/s 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and the accused got arrested,” he added.
He said further investigation of the case was going on.
