Former Secy JKAACL Ramesh Mehta passes away

JAMMU, May 31: Former Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL), Ramesh Mehta passed away today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Supers-peciality Hospital Katra due to COVID-19 infection.
He was 74. He survived with his wife, son and daughter.
Born in 1947, Ramesh Mehta was a writer and artist. “During the year 2003 to 2006, he served as Secretary Cultural Academy. He joined Academy in 1973 as Editor Hindi where he contributed immensely for the promotion of Hindi, Dogri and other languages.”
For his outstanding contributions in the field of literature, Mehta was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award by the Authors Guild of India in the year of 1984.
